FAQs

How Do I Study for the Exam?

We recommend studying for at least 45 days prior to the exam.
The exam is written based on two documents- the Plant Technical Reference Manual (PTRM) and the Code of Practice (Model Code). Both of these can be found on our website or by emailing Al Lear at [email protected] .

How Else Should I Prepare for the Exam?

The exam is challenging, so we recommend you come prepared! You will need access to Zoom, a working microphone and webcam, stable internet, and a quiet place to take the test. The exam consists of 135 multiple choice questions, which you will have up to 3 hours to complete. You are encouraged to bring a non-phone calculator. You may also bring blank scratch paper to work on, and a writing utensil. Please have a photo ID available to confirm identification.

How Do I Schedule the Exam?

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email. Please forward that email to Al Lear at [email protected] with your desired test date and time block. Exams are offered every month on the second Thursday at 1 PM Eastern. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email from Al Lear with further instruction to access the exam.

If you have any questions, please contact Al Lear at [email protected] .
Happy Studying!

“Registration for the IBWA CPO Exam is suspended for the next month while we perform upgrades and transition to a 3rd party proctor system. The new system will allow IBWA members to register and schedule their CPO exam when it is convenient for them. Information on when the CPO exam registration will be back online will be communicated through the IBWA Splash newsletter and through email to bottlers. We apologize for any inconvenience during this CPO Exam upgrade.”
